1. Overview & Our Privacy Commitment

At Map Maker (developed by Rolle Studios), we respect your privacy. Map Maker is built as a mobile creative studio for painting historical and alternate-history maps, creating custom flags, and keyframing map timelapses.

Our privacy principle is simple: your maps are yours. Most data created in Map Maker remains stored locally on your device unless you explicitly sign in and choose to publish your projects to our community feed.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use Map Maker, we collect or process the following types of information:

A. Local Map & Project Data

When you paint provinces, configure dates, create flags, or save map keyframes, all project files (including .mapmaker files, exported PNG photos, and MP4 videos) are stored locally on your device's internal storage. We do not access, scan, or upload your local draft maps.

B. Optional Account Authentication Data

Map Maker offers optional sign-in via Google Sign-In or Apple ID. Account creation is required only if you wish to publish maps to the community feed, like community posts, or sync Creator Pro subscription status across devices. When you sign in, we collect:

• Your basic account identifier (User ID provided by Google or Apple)
• Email address (used solely for account identification and authentication)
• Display name and optional profile avatar URL

C. Community Shared Content

If you explicitly publish a map project to the Map Maker community feed, the project metadata, title, preview thumbnail, and editable .mapmaker file payload are stored in our secure database infrastructure (powered by Supabase).

D. Payments & Subscriptions (Creator Pro)

In-app billing for Creator Pro (which unlocks 4K/60fps rendering, unlimited exports, and watermark removal) is handled entirely by the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). Rolle Studios never collects, processes, or stores your credit card, bank details, or billing address.

E. Diagnostics & Anonymous Performance Data

We may collect anonymized diagnostic data (such as app crash logs, device model, and OS version) to monitor app stability and fix bugs. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.

3. How We Use Information

We use collected data exclusively for the following purposes:

• To provide, maintain, and improve Map Maker features and rendering tools.
• To authenticate your account when accessing community features or syncing Creator Pro.
• To display your published maps to other users in the community feed.
• To process subscription status and unlock Creator Pro benefits.
• To diagnose technical crashes and optimize app performance.

4. Advertising & Third-Party Data Sharing

No Canvas Ads: The Map Maker editing canvas is ad-free to provide an uninterrupted creative environment.

No Data Selling: Rolle Studios does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or map projects to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

Service Providers: We rely on trusted infrastructure providers strictly to deliver service functionality:

• Supabase: Secure cloud storage for authenticated accounts and community feed projects.
• Google Play / Apple App Store: Processing in-app billing and app updates.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

Your local map files remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Community maps published to the network remain available until you remove them from your profile.

You have the right to request deletion of your account and all associated community data at any time. To request account or data deletion, contact us at privacy@rollestudios.com or use the in-app account deletion setting. Upon request, your account record and published community files will be permanently purged within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Map Maker is designed as a creative mapping tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete it.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect updates to Map Maker or changes in legal requirements. Any modifications will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
