TERMS OF SERVICE

1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Map Maker (the "App", "Service", or "Website"), operated by Rolle Studios ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Map Maker, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Map Maker application or website.

2. License & Service Description

Map Maker is a creative mobile application and software suite designed for painting political and historical maps, keyframing territory timeline animations, creating custom flags, and exporting image/video content.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Rolle Studios grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable, limited license to download, install, and use Map Maker on your personal mobile devices for personal, creative, educational, or commercial content creation purposes.

3. User Accounts & Community Content

A. Account Registration

Basic offline map editing does not require an account. However, accessing online community features (such as publishing maps, liking projects, or remixing shared content) requires authentication via Google Sign-In or Apple ID. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

B. User-Generated Content (UGC)

You retain ownership of original map projects, custom flags, alternate-history scenarios, and project files (.mapmaker files) created by you.

When you voluntarily publish a map project to the Map Maker public community feed, you grant Rolle Studios a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content to other users within the app ecosystem.

C. Community Guidelines & Content Moderation

You agree not to publish or transmit content through Map Maker that:

• Contains unlawful, harmful, defamatory, obscene, or hateful material.
• Promotes real-world violence, hate speech, or harassment against protected groups.
• Infringes upon any third-party trademark, copyright, or intellectual property rights.
• Contains viruses, malicious code, or unauthorized promotional spam.

Rolle Studios reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove, edit, or disable access to any community content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.

4. Exported Media & Commercial Usage

Map Maker empowers mappers, content creators, educators, and historians to share their work.

• Video & Image Monetization: You are fully permitted to share, publish, and monetize exported PNG image files and MP4 video timelapses created with Map Maker on platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, blogs, and educational publications.
• Watermarks: Free tier exports may include a subtle Map Maker watermark logo. Removing or altering the watermark via third-party editing tools is prohibited unless unlocked through Creator Pro.

5. Subscriptions & Creator Pro In-App Purchases

Map Maker offers an optional premium subscription tier ("Creator Pro") which unlocks features such as 4K/60fps video rendering, unlimited project exports, advanced map styles, and watermark removal.

• Billing & Processing: In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by the Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS). All payments, renewals, taxes, and payment methods are governed by the respective store's terms.
• Cancellations & Refunds: You may manage or cancel your Creator Pro subscription at any time through your Google Play Account or Apple ID Subscriptions settings. Refund requests are subject to the policies of the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

The Map Maker software, source code, user interface, brand assets, logos, map templates (e.g., 1492, 1815, 1914, Modern World bundled templates), and graphics are the exclusive property of Rolle Studios and its licensors, protected by international copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or attempt to extract the source code of Map Maker, nor resell or redistribute the software core.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Map Maker is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Map Maker is designed as a creative historical map painter and timeline animator, not a geographical information system (GIS) or navigational tool. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or zero error occurrences.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rolle Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of goodwill, or service interruption arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Map Maker online community features or account if you violate these Terms or engage in fraudulent or abusive activities. You may terminate your agreement with us at any time by ceasing use of the App and deleting it from your device.

10. Changes to Terms

Rolle Studios reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective Date." Your continued use of Map Maker after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
